NUEVO
VALLARTA
First of the series of towns going north
from the Ameca River that borders the states of Jalisco and
Nayarit. Nearby to the Puerto Vallarta airport, it has great
resorts and one of the longest walking beaches on the entire
coast.
FLAMINGOS
Bordering on Nuevo Vallarta is Flamingos,
surrounding the famous Flamingos Golf Course, designed by
Englishman Percy Clifford. Some of the newest developments
of hotels, resorts and condominiums.
BUCERIAS
Still have neighborhoods that reflect
Mexico at its friendliest and most genuine. The typical main
plaza is just a few short steps from the broad, sandy beach
with numerous seafood restaurants and seaside clubs for
dining and relaxing, some with live music.
LA CRUZ DE HUANACAXTLE
This
traditional fishing village is on the verge of a major
transformation with the design and construction of a major
marina sponsored
by the La Cruz Yacht Club.
PUNTA DE MITA
This breathtaking mini-peninsula has many
ownership and rental options. Convenient to marina,
restaurants, fishing, snorkeling, whale watching & surfing.
Anclote near the point is under process of major
redevelopment.
LITIBÚ
Litibú
received national attention as a government development zone
when President Vicente Fox visited the area. Located just
north of the entrance to Punta de Mita and south of the
rocky promontory that borders Sayulita.
ISLAS MARIETAS
Off the point of Punta de Mita, these
islands are a national ecological sanctuary well-known for
off-shore reefs that provide wonderful snorkeling and
undersea diving with colorful marine life including the
giant manta ray. Boats are available for rental in Anclote
marina.
SAYULITA
Surf meets sand in a confluence of color
and casual comfort. This art community is home to a number
of gourmet restaurants, as well as boutiques, cyber cafes,
coffee shops and seaside bars. Camping is an option. Plus
luxurious villas and spas for rejuvenation.
SAN FRANCISCO
Also
called San Pancho, it is home to the newly established Polo
Club. Ride well-stabled horses or just watch the polo
matches during the season from November to May.
LO DE MARCOS
This small beach town continues to offer
friendly atmosphere that keeps visitors coming back with
neighborhood restaurants and cafes providing local cuisine.
SAN BLAS
This northern beach town offers surfing,
and the largest estuary jungle in Mexico. Reasonable prices,
jungle cruises,
great restaurants and cafes keep visitors
coming back.
