Platanitos - Playa Las Tortugas Region
Platanitos

It is located just on the border between the municipality of Compostela and San Blas. In order to reach this place you first must go to the village of Las Varas and from there take the detour towards Zacualpan-Platanitos-San Blas, approximately some 35 kilometers from Guayabitos.

The ocean of its bay is ideal for families and on its beach there are more than twenty restaurants offering fresh seafood dishes. From there you can take a trip to Punta Custodio where there is a center for the protection of crocodiles.

Playa Las Tortugas

Playa las Tortugas is located approximately 90 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta in the scenic state of Nayarit. It is a mostly residential area with some very beautiful homes located along a spectacular five-mile stretch of white sand beach that is perfect for sunbathing and swimming. A protected estuary, which is home to hundreds of species of birds and other animals, is adjacent to the beach. The area surrounding Turtle Beach has retained all the charm of Old Mexico, with its colorful hand-made talavera tiles, palapa roofs and roof-top terraces filled with red and orange bougainvillea, yet is a modern area with private villas with all the modern amenities. Turtle Beach is an easy drive to Puerto Vallarta, Bucerias, Punta de Mita and Sayulita.

Platanitos: Picture Perfect

If you are fortunate enough to drive up the verdant coast of Nayarit from Puerto Vallarta or other close-in destinations, make sure not to miss your chance to have lunch and enjoy the beach at Playa Platinitos (little bananas). Located approximately 27 km north of Las Varas, the little town just past Chacala, on the highway to San Blas, Platinitos is a wonderful place to stop and stretch your legs.
