 February-
Nuevo Vallarta organizes the Banderas Bay Festival. The
main attractions are gastronomical samples, a fishing
tournament, sporting events, conferences, exhibitions
and beauty pageants.
March- Governor’s Big Boat Parade held at the Vallarta
Yacht Club in Nuevo Vallarta, this event expects local
and international entries, all for a good time.
March- PGA Tournament, Vista Vallarta, over 500 players,
professionals and amateurs, are expected at this international
televised event held at 36-hole Vista Vallarta. Pro purse
up to $100,000 USD.
May- Torneo Infantil-Juvenil Nacional, expecting up to
100 golfing youngsters, Flamingos hosts this national event.
May- Seniors Cup de GADO, senior golfers are hosted at
Flamingos Golf Course, the oldest golf course in Nayarit,
established in 1978.
June- Club Corp Couples Championship, celebrated at the
Vista Vallarta course designed by Nicklaus and Weiskopf.
 June- II Copa de las Americas, this annual championship
welcomes golfers from anywhere in the Americas at Paradise
Village’s El Tigre Golf Course in Nuevo Vallarta.
October- Tour de las Américas Copa de Naciones World
Cup Qualifier Annual golf event brings golfers and enthusiasts
from around the world at El Tigre in Nuevo Vallarta.
November- Copa Vallarta (Vallarta Cup) Golf Tournament,
this annual pro-am golf event is held at El Tigre and Vista
Vallarta with a purse of $200,000 pesos and other prizes
including Swing Vallarta.
November- Adidas Cup Golf Championship Competition takes
place in Vista Vallarta.
November- Paradise Village Copa de Naciones and
Senior Nacional Mexicano, this double-focus golf event sponsored
by Paradise Village is held at their El Tigre Golf Course
in Nuevo Vallarta.
November- Taylor Made Golf Invitational, annual tournament
takes place in Vista Vallarta.
International Puerto Vallarta Sailfish and Marlin Fishing
Tournament
The level of enthusiasm and emotion for this event is
very high and inevitably contagious. This is the fishing
tournament
with greater tradition in Mexico.
Check on Golf Tournaments in the Vallarta area, prior to
your trip. There are seven professional golf courses around
Banderas Bay, amongst which the following ones stand out:
Flamingos Golf which was the first one in the area, then
there is Marina Vallarta Golf, which is one of the most
recommended ones by the magazine Golf Digest, as well as
Vista Vallarta Golf surrounded by exuberant vegetation,
it was the seat of the World Golf Championship - EMC world
Cup - during 2002.
