La Cruz Mexico is located
in the northern part of Banderas Bay, approximately 36
kilometers from the airport of Puerto Vallarta. It is a
typical small fishing village with a tourist pier. The
beach is wide with gentle surf. The village stands out
due to its exuberant vegetation surrounding it, as well
as for its cobble stone streets.
La Cruz de Huanacaxtle offers the tranquility of a typical
Mexican village, where you may enjoy the rustic daily life
of people living without being in a hurry. Mainly due to
its tranquility and nearness to Puerto Vallarta, at present
the community of foreign residents is beginning to increase
considerably. A recommended place to visit is the gallery
of Huichol Art, which is supporting the Huichol Indians
so that their work may be exhibited and sold.
La Cruz is on the verge of a major transformation with
the design and construction of a major marina sponsored
by the La Cruz Yacht Club. The 380-slip marina will provide
safe mooring for yachts as well as large sailing vessels.
In addition, a malecón will be built along the curve
of the bay with further developments of resorts, boutique
hotels, restaurants and shops. Investment moves quickly
both along the oceanfront and on the higher hills with
views of the sea.
From La Cruz de Huanacaxtle you can take excursions by
highway to the north in order to visit the beaches of Destiladeras,
offering a big extension of fine golden sand, or to the
beach of el Anclote, from where you may start excursions
by small boats towards the Marieta Islands.
Quick tour of La Cruz de Huanacaxle in the Banderas Bay, north of Puerto Vallarta. Includes the new Marina Riviera Nayarit marina.
