The Amigos de Bucerias is starting a monthly speaker night.  The first program will be at  7 p.m., Jalisco, on Wednesday, November 7th at the Bucerias Bilingual Cultural Center (BBCC).  The BBCC is on Calle 16 de Septiembre.  On Matamoros, the ice house road, go two blocks and turn right.  The center is in the middle of the block, on your right.  On the first night,  Ron and Arlene Tackett, of Bucerias, will talk about Bucerias Christmas for Kids, a Christmas toy distribution program that they began 13 years ago.  Last year, over 900 children from Bucerias and surrounding areas received a toy and some sweets, thanks to the Tacketts and their volunteer Santa helpers.  Following the Tacketts, another Bucerias resident, Brus Westby, a professional psychotherapist, will speak about some of the emotional difficulties we face as foreigners in a new country, whether we are working or retired. He will also discuss how we can utilize "tools" in working with our emotions to develop personal clarity and calmness, to help our understanding of our new environment, and improve our relationships with others.  Russell's Ribs will start serving ribs at Philo's on November 1st, and at Anna Banana's on the following Sunday, Nov. 4th, starting at 4:00  p.m. The Patio Piano Bar is open everyday from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m., or later, depending on the crowd.  La Lomita Restaurant is open from 5-10 p.m.

An Evening Under the Stars, will be held at Hacienda San Angel's, Puerto del Cielo on Friday, November 30th, from 6:30-11 p.m. At 6:30, drinks and hors d'oeuvres will be served accompanied by the Trio Los Palomos.  At 7:45 p.m., there will be a live auction.  At 8:15 p.m., a lavish buffet dinner will be served followed by the mariachis, Joya de Mexico.  The address is Calle Miramar 363, Puerto Vallarta.  This is a fund raiser to benefit: SPCA de PV (Sociedad Protectora y Compasiva por los Animales de Puerto Vallarta).  The mission of SPCA de PV is to help fund and promote sterilization, adoption and healthcare efforts for companion animals in the Puerto Vallarta area, with the goal of eliminating the euthanasia of healthy and adoptable animals. Only 80 tickets will be sold at a cost of $700 pesos each.Tickets are available at Hacienda San Angel (222-2692); International Friendship Club, Calles Libertad and Miramar (222-5466);The Book Store, Plaza Caracol (224-1872); Puerco Azul, 325 Constitucion (222-8647); Realty Executives Vallarta, Paseo de LaMarina #245, Edif.
