Located in the Costa Azul neighborhood of San Pancho, this two-bedroom home provides a refuge from the pace of modern life, yet it?s within minutes of town and services. Though only two blocks from the Costa Azul Hotel and the Beach, the house is situated on a large lot at the end of its own road, assuring privacy and quiet. Its location high on the property captures the cooling sea breeze and affords a view of the Pacific and Sayulita Point to the south.

Ascend the beautifully tiled stairs flanked by flowering plants and enter. The 20 foot high palapa ceiling in the living and kitchen area contributes to the house?s cool comfortability as well as its elegance. The decor highlights art from around Mexico and the furnishings are in traditional Mexican styles. Terraces surround the house, integrating the outdoor and indoor living space.

Each of the two bedrooms has its own private terrace providing diverse views. On one side is the jungle, on the other the sea. Flowering trees and swaying palms accent the view in both directions. Natural steps cut from the native stone lead to the roof for spectacular sunsets.

Each bedroom adjoins a bathroom (one of which is carved out of the granite bedrock behind the house and features natural rock walls). One bedroom has a double bed, the other a queen. The queen converts to two singles, perfect for children. Fall asleep to the sound of the Pacific lapping against the beach below.

The grounds are a veritable bird sanctuary with both resident and migratory species. Among them are parrots, parakeets, hawks, tropical kingbirds, red warblers, and yellow winged caciques to name but a few. Other wildlife such as tejones (similar to raccoons) also visit the property.

Other amenities include an outdoor fireplace, barbeque, full kitchen, traditional outdoor laundry basin, and VCR. Daily maid service is provided.

Want to venture away from this paradise? Walk north along a well-traveled road into the jungle to experience the essence of the renowned Costa Verde. Or head south into the village of San Pancho (15 minutes on foot) where you can find basic services as well as several notable restaurants, music in the evenings, and all the accouterments of Mexican village life. Horseback riding, mountain bike, surf boards, and sea kayak rental are all nearby.
