Annual Art & Wine Festival Sponsored by VYC, enjoy
wine, food & art.
February- Bike Week Celebrated by bike events throughout
the bay area, Bike Week has grown into a considerable event
involving more than 500 motorcycles of all makes.
February- San Diego to Puerto Vallarta Boat Race -This
Vallarta-sponsored event ends with celebrations in town
that begin right after the winning boats arrive at the
marina.
February-March- San Diego to Vallarta Yacht Race,
join these experienced sailors in a race against time from
San
Diego past Los Cabos and across the Sea of Cortes to terminate
in Vallarta.
March- Festival Naútico Fishing Tournament,
inside Banderas Bay and outside ocean venues with prizes
for largest
fish in each category followed by fish fry.
March- MEXORC International Race, this major international
race from San Diego is in its 56th year
March to April-
Banderas Bay International Regatta XIV This annual regatta
hosts over 50 boats of every size and
description with daily races and competitions as well as
evening events.
March to April- PGA Tournament, Vista Vallarta,
over 500 players, professionals and amateurs, are expected
at this
international televised event held at 36-hole Vista Vallarta.
Pro purse up to $100,000 USD.
May- Copa Vallarta (Vallarta
Cup for soccer) This tournament in draws soccer teams involving
up to 100 teams of youths
regardless of country of origin as long as the teams are
registered.
May- Sports Classic Annual sports event, involving
community and teams in basketball, football, baseball,
aerobics,
tennis and a mini-marathon. Fun for the entire family.
October-
Vallarta Yacht Club opens for season. The nonprofit Vallarta
Yacht Club opens for a season packed with sailing
and parties.
November- Rally to Paradise Continuation
of the festivities begun during the Baja-Ha-Ha, this sailing
section is from
Los Cabos to Vallarta.
November- Vallarta Film Festival,
an international event supported by the Huston family,
scions of late director
John Huston, this festival continues in its focus on environmental
films with conferences, classes and gala events and screenings.
November-
Medio Maratón (Half Marathon) This international
21K Half-Marathon is sponsored by the sports stadium in
P.V.
Check on Golf Tournaments in the Vallarta area, prior
to your trip. There are seven professional golf courses
around
Banderas Bay, amongst which the following ones stand out:
Flamingos Golf which was the first one in the area, then
there is Marina Vallarta Golf, which is one of the most
recommended ones by the magazine Golf Digest, as well as
Vista Vallarta Golf surrounded by exuberant vegetation,
it was the seat of the World Golf Championship - EMC world
Cup - during 2002.
International Puerto Vallarta Sailfish
and Marlin Fishing Tournament
The level of enthusiasm and emotion for this event is very
high and inevitably contagious. This is the fishing tournament
with greater tradition in Mexico.
